Drayage

Drayage Services

Every day a container sits at the terminal, the demurrage clock runs against you. Fello moves your boxes from vessel to door with carriers who show up when timing is tight, and you hear about slips from us first.

Drayage done right

Efficient, hands-on port-to-door drayage

Drayage is a short move with expensive failure modes: missed terminal appointments, rolled containers, demurrage and per diem stacking up. We manage the timing tightly so your boxes clear and roll.

A forest products trader came to us juggling four freight vendors and writing off demurrage as a cost of doing business. They're down to one vendor, and we recovered the charges they'd written off.

From the port to your door

Drayage is the short-haul move that bridges the water and the road, and it is where projects stall when a partner drops the ball. We stay heavily involved so your containers keep moving.

Efficient processes

We hunt for efficiencies at every step so containers clear and roll without the usual friction.

Solid relationships

Strong carrier and port relationships mean coverage you can count on and support that answers.

Beyond the port

One partner, every mode, all the way to the door

Drayage rarely stands alone. It connects to the rest of your freight, so we built our service to flex around your needs and keep the whole chain moving.

  • Last-minute requests covered without drama
  • Drayage coordinated with your FTL, LTL and warehousing by one team
  • Carrier and warehousing solutions to fit your exact needs
  • A coordinator who stays on the box from vessel to empty return

Port coverage

A large, growing carrier network ready to pick up containers when timing is tight.

Every mode

FTL, LTL, rail and warehousing handled by the same team, so handoffs hold.

Warehousing

Storage and transload solutions built to fit your exact volume and timing.

Hands-on support

A coordinator on your containers who answers the phone when you call.

How we run drayage

The habits that keep containers out of trouble

Demurrage and per diem are lost by inches, an appointment missed here, a box left at the rail yard there. These are the behaviors that protect your money.

01

Pre-Pull Strategy

When delivery can't happen inside free time, we pre-pull the container to a near-port yard, so you pay a modest yard fee instead of the terminal's demurrage rate.

02

Appointment Discipline

Terminal appointments are booked the moment your container shows available, and we confirm the driver the day before. Missed slots are how boxes roll to the next day.

03

Per Diem Monitoring

We track every container's last free day for equipment return and push empties back before the clock starts, then audit the invoices when a charge shows up anyway.
